I recently purchased a Kubota L35 and the lever that controls the lift arms seems to be extremely difficult to use. Is anyone aware of an adjustment that will allow the lever to slide up and down easier? I had a Kubota L245 prior to this tractor and the lever smooth as silk. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It is also possible something has caused it to freeze. Such as fertlizer from a spreader. Have had that happen. In my case, lubericating and slow working it finally freed it. kt ....

I have just started having the same problem on a L2650. The lever has been a little stiff lately, freed up real good for an hour or two and now will not move at all. I have it torn down ready to pull off the top cover but have run into a snag. Is there anywhere I can download a shop page for this before I ruin something or can anyone here give any how to's? Thanks! ....

I'll check the linkage in the morning. The quick glance I gave it after doing some road work revealed no obstruction but I could not see very far without removing a panel or two. It does work, but moves as if some sort of tension has been put on the mechanism that makes smooth operation like feathering gravel difficult. Any other suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

In both cases there is no need to do anyhting but a minor adjustment using two open-ended wrenches. If you have a helper it is a bunch easier though.
With the tractor securely parked on a flat, level surface, with the tires chocked against possible movement, and the engine off, get the helper to sit in the operators seat. Slide under the tractor and by asking the helper to move the lever, locate the pivot arm that goes through the side of the case. There are a pair of thinner than normal nuts that pinch a fiber washer against a machined surface on the side of the case. Gently unlock the two nuts from each other and slowly back off the inner nut until your helper says the lever moves freely, but is not so loose that it will drop from the vibration while operating the machine. When it is correct, tighten the lock nut down on the first nut, and verify that the setting is still correct.
Before you do all that however, I have noticed that on machines that are not used very often, a little rust often develops between the fiber washer and the machined surface, this causes both friction from the roughness of the rust, and a reduced clearance because of the rust. Often a liberal application of penetrating oil and working the lever back and forth often loosens it up to the point where adjustment is not even necessary.

I had tried the penetrating oil and loosened the nuts and the lever was still stuck. Went ahead and pulled the cover thinking the worst only to find everything fine except the rusted together washers on the outside! All this right after I had made the post. Fixed that and all is fine except waiting on a new gasket that was supposed to be here yesterday. Thank you for the help reply anyway! ....
